Delete in the app
If you can still open BetterCal:
- Go to Profile (settings).
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm the request.
You will be signed out. Your account is marked for deletion immediately and you will no longer be able to use the app with that account while the request is pending.
Request without the app
If you uninstalled BetterCal or cannot open it, email us to request deletion. Include the email address on your account and, if you have it, your Account ID.
We will confirm when the request is received and when deletion is complete.
What happens next
- Request received — your account is soft-deleted: access ends and the account is marked pending deletion. We do not wipe everything in that same moment.
- Grace period — for 30 days you can ask support to cancel the request if you change your mind.
- Hard delete — after the grace period we delete or anonymize associated personal data, including profile details, food logs, saved meals, and related account records.
Timeline
We aim to complete deletion within 30 days of your request (the grace period plus final removal). In some cases we may finish sooner. We will not leave an account permanently “frozen” while still treating it as deleted.
Cancel a request
During the 30-day grace period, email support@bettercalapp.com and ask to cancel deletion. Include your account email or Account ID. After the grace period ends and hard deletion runs, the account cannot be restored.
What may be retained
We may retain limited information when required by law, needed to resolve disputes, or necessary for security and abuse prevention (for example, records that show an account was restricted for spam). Retained data is kept only as long as needed for those purposes and is described further in our Privacy Policy.
